As a young adult, Louboutin began attending soirees in Paris in an attempt to persuade young woman there to purchase his shoes. Of course, unsurprisingly, Louboutin was rejected most of the time. He then enrolled in a series of French design schools. After he finished his education, Louboutin opened a boutique shop in the heart of Paris’s fashion district.

Christian Louboutin distinguished himself from more staid designers by offering coffee to his patrons, befriending powerful people like the Princess of Monaco, and generally flouting tradition. However, Christian Louboutin truly stands out for his shoe lines. All of his shoes, most of which are women’s high heels and stilettos, are framed by red soles. He dreams up shoe designs, writes those designs in a notebook, and then actually creates the shoes.

All told, Christian Louboutin has multiple lines, including Oriental, Louis XV, and Periwinkle. In 2005, he released over 120 different new models. As much as Christian Louboutin wants to be seen as a maverick, he also wants to create luxury items. His eccentric yet ultimately stylized designs continue to fascinate and attract fashionistas throughout the world.

While I had the “extras” on these ankle boots, I must say that the ankle strap on these heels are to die for. They’re subtly sexy, I just wish they were on any shoe but these.

When I saw the thumbnails of these Christian Louboutin “Misfit 150″ Velour Ankle Boots, I thought they were going to be absolutely stunning. I could tell they had a double platform, and the combination of ankle boot and peep-toe pump seemed superb. However, when I clicked on the link that Florence sent me, I realized that I not only hated them, but Florence had also included a note in her email to me that she hated these shoes as well!
